THE PINK TRIANGLE ARCHIVE

Support the Archive

The Pink Triangle Archive is independent research infrastructure: built and maintained by one researcher as part of a doctoral project, and paid for personally. Support keeps it online and extends what it holds.

What it costs

Hosting is £25 a month and the domain £40 every two years: about £320 a year to keep the site online. The work that grows the Archive costs more than that. Records have to be found in the collections that hold them, checked, and connected, and the database and analysis pages have to be maintained as they grow.

What your support funds

  • Hosting and the domain: the fixed cost of keeping the Archive online.
  • Archive visits: travel to the collections that hold the men’s records.
  • Desk research: the publications, databases, and tools the research depends on.
  • Maintenance: keeping the database, the analysis pages, and the photo archive working and up to date.

Please read before giving.

  • Donations are received by Lewis Champion personally. Royal Holloway, University of London appears on this site as his academic affiliation only; it does not receive or administer donations.
  • The Pink Triangle Archive is not a registered charity. Donations are gifts: they are not tax deductible and Gift Aid cannot be claimed on them.
  • Giving does not buy access. It is expected that the database will open to scholars and researchers first, in autumn 2027, with a public version to follow, on the same terms for everyone.
  • Support is greatly appreciated, and we would like to show publicly those whose support makes the Archive’s work possible. If you are happy to be named on the Supporters tab, say so when you give and tell us how you would like your name to appear.

Contribute records

Funding is one way to support the Archive. Information is another. If you hold documents, photographs, or family knowledge about a man interned on charges relating to homosexuality, or if you believe an entry in the database is wrong, please get in touch. Every contribution is checked against its source before a record is changed.
